STAGES OF ADMISSION TO THE UNIVERSITY
If you do not have a language proficiency certificate, you must take the exams to obtain the certificate. As in most public universities in Austria, the Vienna University of Economics requires knowledge of German at the C1 level. If you want to take a language exam before coming to Austria, you can do so at the Goethe Institut and ÖSD centers. Our teachers or teachers from our partner language schools will help you prepare for the certificate. You can improve your language skills in university preparatory courses while already being a student.
German or English language exam
If you enter the university immediately after school, these subjects are from the Austrian school curriculum, which the applicant will need to take orally and in writing as part of the preparatory department (Vorstudienlehrgang) in order to be admitted to the entrance exam. There are also preparatory courses at universities in some subjects.You will be given several attempts for each subject, so don't worry if you don't pass them the first time.

Studying at WU attracts a huge number of students. Since the number of places is limited, the applicant will have to take an entrance exam.This stage, in turn, can be divided into three steps:
- An online test. It's pretty simple, lasts about an hour. You will need to answer basic questions on general topics and solve a couple of IQ tasks. Examples of this test can be found on the Internet. You will not receive a grade for this test, only passing is counted.
- Motivation letter. You will need to tell us about your motivation to study at this university and about your expectations from studying.
- The entrance exam itself.
